Council is inviting individuals who are eligible to be a councillor to nominate themselves for a chance to represent their community.
Applications opened online at 8.30 am Friday, 31 March 2023 and close at 5.00 pm on Wednesday, 3 May 2023.

Prior to nominating, all candidates (including sitting councillors) must complete ‘So you want to be a councillor’ training within 6 months of the nomination date. Existing councillors who are re-nominating for election must also complete this training. Please refer to Section 26.2 in the Local Government Electoral Act 2011 for further information.

Council has received 12 nominations from Central Highlands residents interested in filling the vacancy left by Natalie Curtis’ recent resignation.
Council invites eligible individuals to be a councillor to nominate for the vacancy and then appoint a new councillor from those nominees.
Councillor Natalie Curtis has publicly announced her intention to resign as an elected councillor of Central Highlands Regional Council, effective 31 March 2023.
