Cr Hayes was elected as Mayor in 2016 and re-elected unopposed in 2020. Cr Hayes and his partner Bronwen have owned and operated Emerald Land and Cattle Company for just over 30 years. The company has a business reach over the entire Central Queensland region. It provides a range of services and expertise in livestock and property sales and water trading as well as land development. This incredible practice experience and regional awareness has driven Cr Hayes to want to promote and enhance the Central Highlands to its full potential. Cr Hayes has provided his skills to many committees and advisory groups over his career including saleyards boards, vegetation management, town and disaster recovery groups. He is currently chair of the Central Highlands Development Corporation, the Central Highlands Accelerate Agriculture Advisory Group, Central Highlands (Qld) Housing Company and the Local Disaster Management Group. Regionally he has had served as Chair of the Central Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils (CQROC) and as a representative on the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) Economic Development Advisory Group. |

A business owner, Cr Rolfe is director of Birrong Grazing Company. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and has completed AICD’s company director, risk analysis and bookkeeping courses. She also holds qualifications in rural business management and agriculture. Cr Rolfe is passionate about making a positive difference to the region. In particular, exploring opportunities for economic growth. Her achievements include serving as vice-president/treasurer of state farming organisation, AgForce Queensland and vice-president of the National Farmers Federation. Cr Rolfe moved to the Central Highlands region with her family in the early 1960s. |

An irrigation, dry land and grazing farmer, Cr Brimblecombe has called the Central Highlands home for more than 40 years. Cr Brimblecombe is an active community member. He is president of the Duaringa Local Ambulance Committee and also serves as a volunteer driver. He is a first officer with Boolburra Rural Fire Brigade and a member of the Duaringa SES. He is also instructor and president for Traditional Shotokan Karate Federation Rockhampton and vice-president of Traditional Shotokan Karate Federation Queensland. Cr Brimblecombe is a member of the Local Government Water and Sewerage Committee. He is proud of the work he has done to improve community engagement throughout the Central Highlands region and looks forward to ensuring this continues to strengthen over the next four years. |

She is looking forward to ensuring the community is well informed and getting out and listening to people and responding to their concerns. Cr Carpenter has lived in the Central Highlands region for her whole life. She currently works for Elders Rural Services, a job she is very passionate about. Cr Carpenter is a volunteer for the Springsure Working Horse Association and the Anglican Parish of Springsure and Springsure Show. She has served on the Game Plan Advisory Committee and is proud to be playing a key role in successfully negotiating for day care in Springsure. Cr Carpenter has also worked on organising committees for six camp draft national finals. |

Cr Daniels holds a Bachelor of Business – Agriculture and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors' (AICD) company directors' course. She owns a cattle grazing business at Comet. A long-term resident of the Central Highlands region, Cr Daniels has also lived and worked overseas and across the state. Cr Daniels is passionate about her role with council and rates becoming a councillor and being able to work with the community as a career highlight. She is an active volunteer and donates her time and expertise to many organisations. Cr Daniels is currently deputy-chairperson of Central Highlands Social Services Ltd, deputy-chairperson of Emerald and District Social Development Association (Emerald Neighbourhood Centre), deputy-chairperson of Friends of Emerald, Rural and Remote Communities Inc. (Access Accommodation), director of Central Highlands Development Corporation Ltd. and director of Central Highlands (Qld) Housing Company Ltd. |

She has lived in the region for almost 28 years and runs her own small consultant business, specialising in community/ social development and research projects. Cr Moriarty’s career highlights include working at Central Queensland University Emerald campus, Central Highlands Development Corporation, the former Department of State Development, Trade and Innovation and Central Highlands Regional Council. She has a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration. Cr Moriarty is an Associate Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders and a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). She rates her greatest achievement as raising her three children Shaun, Luke and Emily and is proud her granddaughters are fifth-generation Moriartys living in Emerald. Cr Moriarty is also pleased to have actively worked with many volunteers over the years in sporting, school, church and community groups. A highlight for Cr Moriarty has been her involvement with study tours to the Central Highlands region from the University of Queensland which resulted in several hundred students, mostly from Africa, enjoying and learning about the Central Highlands region. |

She is passionate about the Central Highlands region which she has called home for more than 50 years and is proud of the work she has done to forge the concept of Community Reference Groups in the region. In partnership with her husband, Cr Sypher manages a grazing property and transport business. She previously enjoyed an 18 year career with Central Queensland University as an executive manager - an achievement she rates as a career highlight. She has a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Management (HR). Cr Sypher has volunteered with the Central Highlands Science Centre for 20 years and is also a volunteer with Yumba Bimbi where she previously served as a board member. |
