It’s time to get ready for the 2018 sports season in the Central Highlands.
The Central Highlands Sports Forum on 24 and 25 February 2018 at the Emerald Town Hall will get clubs, players and anyone interested ready for the season ahead, both on and off the field, while the Sports Awards Dinner on 23 February at the Maraboon Tavern will recognise top performers from 2017.
Proudly presented by the Central Highlands Regional Council and the Department of Housing and Public Works (Sport and Recreation Services), the Central Highlands Sports Forum boasts six free Building Active Community Workshops plus a session on council’s Game Plan for organised sport and active recreation.
The workshops include strategic planning, facility management, sports strapping and performance psychology. They offer value for everyone, not just sporting organisations, but also volunteers, teachers, parents, athletes and committees.
The Sports Awards Dinner is a social evening not to be missed, when guest speaker Dr Phil Jauncey, Australia’s top performance psychologist, shares his experiences as a performance coach in the Australian and international world of sport.
Nominations for the Sports Awards are open and can be made online until Friday 16 February. Tickets for the dinner can be purchased online at $50 per person and bookings are essential as tickets are limited.
Registrations to the Sports Forum workshops can be made online as well before Monday 19 February.
