As part of the upgrades to Arthur Street in Blackwater, a number of trees will be removed from the median strip between Manna and Blain streets.
Due to their close proximity to the existing kerb and channel, the trees are causing infrastructure issues. If left in place they would be badly damaged during the civil works. Unfortunately their age, position and type also means they would not survive a transplant.
Once upgrades to the road are complete, council intends to continue the landscaping theme adopted at the top end of the street along the entire median. This will involve replanting replacement trees.
The finished product will be a consistent, safe and appealing streetscape.
