Central Highlands Regional Council’s much-anticipated Arts in August program kicks off this week, with an assortment of exciting events and workshops set to take place across the region.
‘Each year, this fantastic campaign promotes the diversity of the region’s thriving arts and culture sector, supporting local community projects and their development,’ Mayor Cr Kerry Hayes said.
‘This year is particularly special, as we celebrate 30 years of the Gemfest exhibition and herald in a new era with the inaugural Gigs and Digs Festival.
‘But that’s just the start of what’s on offer. From astronomy and music to photography and poetry, there really is something for everyone.’
Cr Hayes said the program was a real drawcard for tourists, but also an opportunity for locals to get to know their community a little better.
‘I would like to thank all of the sponsors for getting behind this fabulous initiative and encourage everyone to get along to as many events as possible,’ Cr Hayes said.
