Preparations for the Central Highlands Regional Council’s annual Arts in August program are ramping up, with an assortment of exciting events and workshops set to take place across the region.
‘Each year, this fantastic campaign promotes the diversity of the region’s thriving arts and culture sector, supporting local community projects and their development,’ Mayor Cr Kerry Hayes said.
From the Gemfest exhibition and the Central Highlands Multicultural Festival to recycled craft workshops, a photo competition, concerts and markets, this year’s offering has something for everyone.
‘These events are a real drawcard for tourists, but they are also a great opportunity for locals to get to know their community a little better,’ Cr Hayes said.
‘Arts in August helps to deliver arts and cultural programs to not only the regional hubs, but to isolated and remote towns as well.
‘I would like to thank all of the sponsors for getting behind this fabulous initiative and encourage everyone to get along to as many events as possible.’
