As the weather warms up, thoughts turn to summer fun at the local pool and the gates to Capella Aquatic Centre will be open right on time.
Central Highlands’ Councillor Gai Sypher said tender applications for the pool management are currently being assessed.
‘There is a process council has to undertake to source new management that involves advertising a tender, giving plenty of time to receive applications, and then vetting those applications to make sure we get the right people for the task,’ Cr Sypher said.
‘I recognise the swimming season is fast approaching and that the Capella community is becoming slightly concerned, but council can guarantee that the centre will open in time for the school holidays to start on the 22 September 2018.
‘We have several options to ensure the centre will operate even if there is a delay in finalising the new management,’ she added.
