Works have commenced on the 8km stretch of water pipeline from Capella to Tieri.
This pipeline is a vital piece of infrastructure that will link and service these towns for many years to come.
‘Sustainable water supplies enable population growth and promote industries that allow our communities to flourish, council is committed to ensuring our communities have safe and constant access to water,’ Mayor Kerry Hayes said.
Water is a critical service to our communities and council is proud to have been awarded ‘Building our Regions’ grant funding to assist with the efficient delivery of the project.
‘The ‘Building our Regions’ program has supported regional and rural councils in delivery of enhanced water supply and wastewater management for regional communities, while supporting 3180 construction jobs across regional Queensland,’ said State Water Minister Glenn Butcher.
With contractors beginning work this month, the community is reminded of ongoing traffic management and control that may be in place over the coming months.
Patience around these traffic disruptions, along Crinum Road, is appreciated while these necessary works are undertaken.
