Have you ever wanted to kayak down the Nogoa River?
Or maybe learn more about its historic Indigenous connections?
The Central Highlands Regional Council has dubbed this month ‘Nogoa November’ and will be hosting a free community event at the Emerald Botanic Gardens on Saturday 25 November 2017.
‘This event is all about celebrating the revival of our unique river system,’ General Manager Communities Daniel Fletcher said.
‘Over the past few months council has been investigating and identifying ways to improve the access and recreational use of this wonderful asset we are fortunate enough to have in our region.
‘At our Nogoa November event, we will be showcasing the river through free kayak hire and educational displays, as well as updating the community on our revitalisation plans.’
Mr Fletcher said there would also be a free snag and soft drink on offer for those who come along.
‘We know its election day, so why not go cast your vote and then pop down to see us,’ he said.
The event will be held at the Vince Lester Bridge carpark area from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm.
