As you are aware, the weather event impacting the Central Highlands region is continuing to produce widespread rain and wet conditions across the region.
Council is encouraging all residents to be aware of ever changing conditions and to stay alert, especially when travelling.
It is important to know your local area, and stay connected to local media for current weather warnings and advice as well as, having up-to-date emergency alert and road closure information.
You can do the following to ensure your safety, and the safety of your family in times of extreme weather:
- Never drive in flood waters
- Don’t swim or wade in flood waters
- Continue to monitor your local areas and be aware of areas’ known to flood
- Follow instructions from authorities, follow road signage directions at all times and consider the advice provided by emergency services
Head to councils Emergency Management Dashboard to get the latest information. You can view road closure alerts, power outages and flood cameras.
Be sure to ‘know before you go’ by checking the flood camera box on the region map. This gives you access to live images and help you to be prepared before you travel.
