Central Highlands Regional Council’s inaugural public auction of surplus goods and equipment, held on 25 November 2017, was a great success.
Despite the date clash with the state government election, all the items were sold and more than 500 people attended in person with many more participating via the phone and the simulcast online.
Successful bidders came from as far away as Western Australia and Far North Queensland.
There was an opportunity to bid on more than 200 lots – ranging from vehicles to various tractors, small and medium trucks, a street sweeper and loaders.
All items fetched well above the reserve price with the highest price of the day being $116,000 for a wheel loader.
Total gross proceeds from the auction was approximately $767,000.
