Disaster management staff and stakeholders from across Central Queensland gathered in Emerald this week for a two-day forum.
Representatives from Isaac, Rockhampton, Mackay, Gladstone, Banana, Livingstone and Barcaldine councils were invited by the Central Highlands Regional Council to take part in the inaugural regional get-together, which was held on 22 and 23 March 2017.
The forum provided disaster management officers with an opportunity to discuss issues, swap ideas and identify best practice for effective planning, education and preparedness strategies.
Central Highlands Coordinator Emergency Services Glenn Bell said the aim of the forum was to enhance community resilience and community safety by sharing knowledge and resources.
