The Central Highlands Regional Council is carrying out drainage and remediation works from 11 November to 22 November 2019 in Rubyvale.
The works will be carried out at Policeman Creek and the adjoining reserve adjacent to Vane Tempest Drive and Goanna Flats Road.
The works include:
- Excavation to realign overland drain from culvert on Vane Tempest Drive to Policeman Creek;
- Filling area of existing drain to reduce water pondage;
- Excavation of southern Policeman Creek embankment to direct water from new drain in more direct route downstream;
- Filling and protection of northern Policeman Creek embankment to reinstate affected property boundary and avoid further scouring and subsidence.
Disturbance to existing vegetation will be minimised and the minor realignment of the creek will be protected by rock to mitigate further soil erosion and subsidence.
Heavy vehicles and machinery will be operating in and around the work zone and workers will be on foot within the site.
