Emerald Transfer Station is set for a makeover next month with council investing $80 000 to revitalise the facility.
Council’s Manager of Planning & Environment Phil Jeston said the necessary works would be carried out with minimal disruptions for users of the facility.
‘Upgrades to the hopper and compactor will give both units a new lease of life. We’ll also be working to stabilise the existing concrete walls and install a new floor into the rubbish pit as well as handrails to keep both staff and users safe,’ said Mr Jeston.
‘The works will begin in September and take up to six weeks to complete.
‘The facility will remain open for the duration of the works and I ask facility users to be patient and follow the directions of staff during this time.
