Central Highlands Regional Council has today released its first quarterly performance report for the 2024-2025 financial year.
The report provides an update on the progress council has made towards its annual operational plan objectives.
‘The first quarter is all about laying the foundation for a successful year, and we have been busy planning, reviewing, designing and breaking ground on a number of important projects,’ Acting CEO Ross Musgrove said.
‘I am pleased to say 89% of our operational plan initiatives are on track, and we are in a good position to continue this progress into quarter 2.’
Some highlights from Q1 include:
- 838 km of the region’s roads were graded
- Over 1.4 million KL of treated water was supplied to our towns
- 29,393 head of cattle were processed at the Emerald Saleyards through weekly auction sale
- 7,467 calls were received at our customer service centres with 68% resolved at first point of contact
- 27 development applications were determined
- 4 art exhibitions were hosted at our two art galleries
- 31 events, projects, performances and workshops held as part of Arts Around August 2024 program
- 379 youth attended Youth Fest 24 in Blackwater
- 1,200 people attended NAIDOC celebrations in Emerald, Duaringa and Blackwater
- Hosted 8 students from Ichinoseki, Japan as part of council’s Sister City Exchange Program and celebrated 30 years of sister city relationship
- Pave and seal of Mulchay’s Road at Arcadia Valley was completed
- New water main was constructed in Blackwater
- Work began on Springsure Aquatic Centre upgrade
