It’s time to get out and get active in the Central Highlands.
Healthy Active Highlanders is a chance for women and girls in the region to come and try a healthy activity for free for 12 weeks.
These fun fitness sessions start from 2 July 2018 and are conducted by qualified instructors for women and girls of all ages and stages. No frills, no obligation and no cost.
Central Highlands Regional Council Coordinator Sport and Recreation Courtney Wheeler said the classes are designed to provide enjoyable, accessible and affordable activities aimed at increasing sport and active recreation participation of inactive women and girls.
‘The program is supported by the Queensland Government to get women and girls in the region active for life,’ she said.
‘From mums and bubs and laughing yoga to boxing and group fitness, there are multiple classes with of a variety of styles.
‘It’s really about getting out there, trying something and meeting like-minded people.’
Classes will be held in Emerald, Blackwater, Springsure and Capella. There is no sign-up required, but participants need to bring a water bottle and a towel, wear comfortable clothing and sensible footwear. A screening questionnaire will need to be filled out before participating.
