Wire art enthusiasts are in for a treat with the Central Highlands Regional Council’s inaugural Metal in March celebration commencing next month.
Taking place over four days from Friday 5 March, Capella, Comet and Springsure will host an assortment of wire art workshops.
Each workshop, led by artists Sue Pukallus, Helen McLennan or Milynda Rogers, will give attendees the opportunity to produce their very own unique wire pieces.
‘Metal in March is another excellent opportunity to diversify the region’s thriving arts and culture sector by bringing a new creative experience to some of our smaller communities,’ Mayor Kerry Hayes said.
‘Even if you are a complete wire art novice, I encourage anyone interested to try something new and give these sessions a go.’
This month-long celebration of wire art is an initiative of the Central Highlands Arts and Cultural Advisory Committee (CHACAC). As a council committee, CHACAC implements arts, cultural and heritage activities, and provides community perspectives into council’s strategic documents.
