After going through a comprehensive selection process, council has found four exciting contenders for the signature art piece of the Sapphire Gemfields Interpretive Trail.
The trail is a tourism initiative, aiming to enhance the visitor experience through education on geological features, history, culture and the fossicking process.
The art piece needs to be big and eye-catching, but also high quality and reflective of the character of the Sapphire Gemfields. We are asking local residents to give us feedback on the 10 initial concepts by visiting one of our displays or filling out the online feedback form here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/gemfields
If you are interested in reading the artist’s statements and discovering the inspiration behind each design, these will also be available at the displays.
