Central Highlands Regional Council and Isaac Regional Council will be calling tenders in 2019 for kerbside collection in both the Isaac and Central Highlands regions.
It is one of the largest contracts both councils will undertake over the coming years and an attractive opportunity for the right company.
Every year, kerbside collection trucks working in the Isaac and Central Highlands regions collectively travel a distance that is more than eight times around the world.
Current contract arrangements expire in October 2019 and submissions for the Request for Tender (RFT) are expected to be invited in January 2019 until March 2019, with a decision by both councils scheduled for April/May.
This timeframe is aimed at providing enough time to complete mobilisation activities including new vehicle provision.
The kerbside collection contract packages will be:
- A – Waste and Recycling Collection – Central Highlands Regional Council; and;
- B – Waste and Recycling Collection – Isaac Regional Council.
RFT documents will address the different requirements of each council, such as service areas and frequencies of delivery. Applicants need to address each package separately but will be invited to tender for collective services where efficiencies can be identified and if the applicant has the capacity to deliver.
Council will inform the community once the tender has been awarded.
