Clean Up Australia Day 2016
On Sunday4 March 2018,Emerald residents will join hundreds of thousands of Australians in taking to the streets for Clean Up Australia Day.
The annual nation-wide event encourages Australians to help protect and care for their local environment, collecting rubbish in a bid to provide a more sustainable future.
This year there’ll be all the fun of the fair at Emerald’s McIndoe Park on Opal Street.
Bring the family and check out the giant slide, climbing wall, free kayaks, jumping castle and learn about our 104 or more litter reduction campaign and the cool littering app Litterati.
There’ll also be a display with recycled lawn mowers, CQ Pet Rescue, a community barbeque, coffee van and more …
Clean-up volunteer registration is at 8.30 am
Clean-up from 9.00 am to 10.00 am
Fair begins at 10.00 am and goes to 2.00 pm.
This year we’ll be asking volunteers to bring their bags of litter back to base to help sort rubbish from recycling.
Wear: a hat, sunscreen and sturdy shoes
Bring: gloves (a limited amount of gloves will be supplied) and water
