Browsing our libraries is about to become a lot more user-friendly thanks to a new online catalogue service.
The platform, called Montage, will go live on 31 May 2019 replacing the Central Highlands Regional Council’s current system OPAC.
Coordinator Libraries Kira Nuss said while OPAC had served library clients well, the technology was out-dated and in desperate need of a revamp.
‘The Montage platform makes exploring our vast collection of books, eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, music, videos, images, kits and maps much simpler,’ she said.
‘Library users will now be able to search a key word and return results in their respective formats rather than all bunched together.’
Ms Nuss said the new online catalogue also allowed users to leave comments and sign up for a library membership.
‘We think our customers, from the youngest cardholders to our lifetime members, are going to love the new system,’ she said.
‘Our friendly library team can also help you navigate your way around Montage with free one-on-one tutorials.’
