Like a kid on Christmas morning, Central Highlands Regional Council is excited to announce our annual lights competition is receiving a revamp this holiday season.
Illuminating the same great holiday spirit, the newly named Light Up CH will include two new awards with People’s Choice and Best Rural Property added to the judge’s lineup.
‘This competition is always a wonderful way to spread holiday cheer in the lead up to this special time of year, and we hope these minor adjustments will make it more inclusive of the entire region,’ said Mayor Kerry Hayes.
‘Driving around the region to see the lights is a special part of the festive season for many families, and we believe being able to vote for your favourite display this year will only amplify the tradition.
‘I am especially looking forward to seeing the creative festive displays taking over our rural properties. If previous years are anything to go by, this will be a competitive category to judge.’
This year’s categories:
- Best residential display
- Best business/community organisation display
- Best rural display
- Beryl Callaghan Spirit of Christmas Award
- People’s Choice Award
To be eligible for all categories please attach a photo of your lights display to the entry form.
Council reminds residents to be safe when setting up their lights displays, including ensuring all electrical equipment is in good working order.
