Blackwater residents will notice road works along Arthur Street next month as Central Highlands Regional Council undertakes an upgrade on the full length of the street.
Large potholes, rough surfaces and cracking of the kerb has initiated the upgrade, which will begin in April.
The pavement base will be renewed, subsoil drainage improved, the kerb and channel replaced, new road seal completed and line marking to complete.
Tenders for the work closed this week and the project is expected to be completed by 30 June 2016.
There will be minimal disruption to residents and businesses along the street and affected businesses will be contacted before work commences to reduce the impact of the road works.
Advice is to take an alternative route where possible and to obey all traffic signs in the area.
