Round two of the Central Highlands Regional Council’s 2020 Community Grants Program is now open to organisations who need funds to do something great for the local area.
Mayor Kerry Hayes said local organisations are invited to apply for grants to fund programs and/or equipment/facilities in the following categories:
- Community assistance – up to $5,000
- Sport and Recreation – up to $5,000
- Community Improvement – up to $20,000
‘Community organisations such as charities and sporting clubs are integral to our community. They promote cohesiveness and help people form lifelong social connections,’ he said.
‘Council’s community grants program is an important way of ensuring the longevity of the many wonderful organisations which contribute to make the Central Highlands a healthier and happier place to live.
‘We want to hear from community groups/organisations that need financial assistance to implement an idea that will have a positive impact on residents.
‘Many clubs and organisations have been unable to do their usual fundraising this year and it is important that they apply for these grants to help keep their activities and improvements happening.’
Applications close 5.00 pm 31 August 2020. Application forms and guidelines are available from council’s website, libraries, offices and rural transaction centres.
