The annual Central Highlands Art Awards are back again for 2019, with artists from all mediums and all corners of the country invited to enter.
‘Our prestigious awards program is a nation-wide competition that aims to celebrate the diversity of the arts and raise the profile of both local and non-local artists,’ Mayor Kerry Hayes said.
‘Whether your weapon of choice is a paint bush, a camera or even a keyboard and mouse, as long as you have a flair for the creative we want to hear from you.’
The awards include the Central Highlands Regional Council (CHRC) Acquisitive Award, the CHRC Local Artist Award, the Margaret Gibson Youth Award and the People’s Choice Award.
Categories are:
- Easel based works (any medium)
- Works on paper (no photography or computer art)
- Three-dimensional works (freestanding and wall-hung)
- Photography
- Digital art
All entries will be displayed in an exhibition at the Emerald Art Gallery from 3 August 2019 to 6 September 2019.
Entries close 5.00 pm Friday 12 July 2019.
