Central Highlands councillors this morning voted to appoint Rachael Cruwys to the vacant position of councillor.
Council received 12 nominations for the councillor position and conducted an informal ballot process before voting to appoint Ms Cruwys.

Ms Cruwys will take the declaration of office tomorrow, Thursday 25 May, and will immediately begin her onboarding process to perform her role as a local government councillor.
As a lifelong resident of the Central Highlands, Ms Cruwys grew up on a rural property east of Capella.
With previous experience in the local government financial sector, Ms Cruwys also partakes in advocacy roles relating to regional communities, agricultural, fishing and forestry issues.
