Update 14 December 2020
Due to further emergency works required, unfortunately, the Sapphire Pool will not be ready to reopen on 15 December 2020. The specialist equipment required to investigate may take some weeks to be available.
Update 8 December 2020
The Central Highlands Regional Council advises that the repairs at the Sapphire Aquatic Centre have been completed. The pool is scheduled to re-open on 15 December 2020. While the pool was empty, additional works scheduled for winter were completed including replacing skimmer boxes and anti-slip coating on the steps.
Update 26 November 2020
The Central Highlands Regional Council advises that assessment and repairs of the Sapphire Aquatic Centre will take longer than anticipated. The council is hopeful that the centre can reopen at the beginning of the December school holidays.
Previous 23 November 2020
The Central Highlands Regional Council advises that the Sapphire Aquatic Centre is temporarily closed for repairs after it sprung a water leak.
Assessment of the source of the leak and repairs are expected to take no more than one week with re-opening planned for 1 December 2020.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by this unplanned closure.
