From acid wash denim to leg warmers and vintage vinyl, shoppers will snag epic stuff at 80s prices when the Garage Sale Trail returns to Emerald this month following National Recycling Week.
Across 12 – 13 and 19 – 20 November, Australia’s festival of pre-loved stuff will see dozens of garage sales happen locally, with thousands more across the nation.
Mayor Kerry Hayes said the council-supported event is a fun and social way for residents to reduce waste, meet the neighbours and make or save a few bucks.
‘The garage sales registered locally will see thousands of items saved from landfill,’ he said.
‘Shoppers can snag a guilt-free bargain and know they’re contributing to a stronger circular economy which values the raw materials used to create new items and keeps stuff circulating for longer.’
Garage Sale Trail has partnered with PayPal to enable cashless payments at this year’s event. Shoppers and sellers with a PayPal account and the PayPal app can make and accept secure, touch-free payments using PayPal QR codes.
