National Volunteer Week is an annual celebration of community members who give back to their community and make a positive impact on the region as a result.
To mark this occasion, council will recognise nominated volunteers with a certificate of appreciation and an entry into a draw to win a $200 Visa giftcard.
Nominations to receive the certificate of appreciation and entry to the draw are now being accepted on council’s website at chrc.info/volunteer
‘Our region thrives when volunteers take the time to make their communities a better place to live, work and play,’ said Mayor Kerry Hayes.
‘Many of our council-run events wouldn’t be possible without the help of volunteers.
‘We’re especially thankful for clubs like the Rotary Club Emerald, The Emerald Lions Club, Emerald Emergency Services Cadets and the State Emergency Service (SES) and Rural Fire Service,’ he continued.
Entries will be accepted until Thursday 18 May at 5.00 pm and the winner will be announced on Friday 19 May.
