Almost three months after being flooded Springsure’s large playground is ready to play again.
The playground at Rich Memorial Park on William Street re-opened to the public just in time for the Labour Day long weekend.
There’s still a section of fencing closest to the creek and Comet Street Bridge that will be replaced as a priority within the coming weeks and barrier mesh is currently in place.
The barbecue has been cleaned and council has been advised by an electrician that it’s safe for use.
The small playground closest to Star Street will still remain closed as there are additional works to be completed to make it safe.
Further outstanding works are footpath repairs along Spring Street and the rebuild of the footbridge and its approaches. The footbridge is being redesigned taking into consideration flood modelling and work will begin once the design is completed.
