Update 25 June 2021: Due to rain Emerald works will be postponed until Wednesday 30 June 2021.
As Monday’s pipe burst in Emerald demonstrated, ongoing maintenance work on our water network is vital in all our communities. Over the last two years, we’ve invested $4 million to replace valves and hydrants across the region. Valves give us the ability to shut down and isolate sections of the network to small areas when incidents occur.
For the ongoing hydrant and valves replacement works, there will be works occurring in Duaringa and Emerald on Wednesday 23 June 2021 and Friday 25 June 2021 respectively.
Type and length of interruption:
During the renewal process, water supply will be turned off for up to 2.5 hours between the following times.
- Duaringa: Wednesday 23 June 2021, 10 pm – 12 am
- Emerald: Friday 25 June 2021, 1 pm – 4 pm
Affected streets:
- Duaringa: entire town
- Emerald: Campbell Street and surrounds
Note:
You may experience slight discolouration of the water, if you do, it is recommended that you run the water for a short period of time. If this persists, please contact Central Highlands Regional Council on 1300 242 686.
