Ten local and regional bands will rock Lions Park in Blackwater as youth music festival Parkwave kicks off Central Highlands’ Youth Week on 15 June 2018.
Two stages will provide ongoing entertainment amongst mini eat street and market stalls from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm.
Headlined by Rockhampton father and son duo Bordaline, rock band JAG and The Rollers and musical talent and former X-Factor contestant Chenai Boucher, there’ll be music for every taste and age. Local musicians include Mitchell Rolfe, Rebekah Hill and more.
Mayor Kerry Hayes said the Parkwave Festival is a first for the region and will provide young people access to events and experiences not often seen in the region.
‘We have been given the opportunity through the Queensland Government’s Building Better Regions Fund to run something unique and special for our region’s youth and we hope that Parkwave is something that everyone will come along to and enjoy,’ he said.
‘We already have more than 600 registrations and are looking forward to a well-attended event.’
Youth Week will continue to be fun-packed with activities to socialise, learn and celebrate until 24 June 2018.
