This Sunday Central Highlands residents will join hundreds of thousands of Australians in taking to the streets for Clean Up Australia Day 2016. Clean Up Australia Day is about Australians volunteering some of their time and making a positive impact to their local environment.
Council is organising clean-ups in the Central Highlands area and all local residents are encouraged to come down and lend a hand.
“We had a great turn out of community members last year, and would like to top that again this year,” said Central Highlands Mayor, Cr Peter Maguire.
“If everyone does their little bit towards the conservation of our fantastic region, and thinks about how we can reduce our impact on the environment, it will keep the Central Highlands a fantastic place for future generations.”
