The Central Highlands Regional Galleries aim to create awareness and appreciation of arts and culture through a diverse program of high-quality exhibitions. You can apply to showcase your work in one of our two galleries:
- The Emerald Art Gallery – a spacious, bright gallery with impressive hanging space and high ceilings
- The Bauhinia Bicentennial Art Gallery in Springsure – an attractive and well-designed gallery suitable for smaller exhibitions.
We welcome exhibition proposals throughout the year. We encourage proposals from emerging, mid-career and professional artists from all cultural backgrounds. We also encourage group, collaborative, curated and touring exhibitions.
Exhibitions are scheduled for a period of four to six weeks. We generally schedule our exhibition program 12 to 18 months in advance.
Artists may submit one proposal every two years for each gallery.
The Central Highlands Regional Galleries are public galleries with no fees to exhibit. Sale of all exhibited artworks during the exhibition period is facilitated by council and includes a 10% commission fee deducted from the listed sale price.
Please contact the Arts and Cultural Officer – Galleries at chgalleries@chrc.qld.gov.au to discuss your proposal.
To apply to be part of our exhibition program, please download and complete the Exhibition Proposal form and submit to chgalleries@chrc.qld.gov.au. Once your proposal has been assessed, you will be contacted via email.
